Good afternoon!! Today in Reception we started working on pre-grafmismo with Miss Paula.
We had to trace straight lines going from up to down.

Then we had to draw our own. This way we can practise how we hold the pencil and the correct direction to go in!
The when we were done, we got to play with the kitchen and imagined making wonderfully tasty dishes!

Then we got to prepare the lunch room for all of Materna Inglese.

21 September 2018

Good afternoon!! Today in Reception we started by welcoming in Autumn. The 21st is the first day of Autumn so it was only right for us to learn about what that means.
Miss Paola and Miss Lindsay talked about what happens in Autumn and how the weather changes. We also learned about what fruits and vegetables are in season. We learned that some classmates have these fruits at and are going to bring them to class so we can see and maybe taste them!

Then Miss Paola read us a story about Autumn leaves. It was a nice story about how the leaves wanted to be like butterflies.

After snacktime we had to draw a picture about what Autumn means to us. Some of us drew trees with changing leaves.

Others just drew the leaves.

Good afternoon! Today we had are first full day in Reception. This meant we had to learn a few new things. The first big thing was how to set the tables!

Then after our hard work we got to play. We are having fun with all out new friends!

Today was great day! We spent more time with our friends and had pizza and ice cream for lunch! It was the best!!!!

After the story we had to draw a picture about the book. There were many things we could draw!

There were pirates, sharks, crocodiles, ships, treasure maps and of course underpants!

18 September 2018

Good afternoon everyone! Today in Reception we got to see the "fruits of our labour" from our grape smashing yesterday. We saw our juice and learned about the next part of the wine making process.
We didn't get to taste it because it had already started to ferment. The grapes were just that sweet! We did get to smell it and see how the color had changed and how there was some sediments.

Then we went to Sala Arte with Miss Helen and Miss Paola to paint our own grape bunches using wine corks!

Since we used white grapes we only painted with green.

We colored the grape stems with colored pencils.

When we had finished we got to play with each other! Some of us played with the big Legos.

Some of us with the dolls.

And of course some of us with the cars!

17 Septmber 2018

Good afternoon! We had a great day today in Reception. We started the day singing songs altogether. We have anew song to start the day with that Miss Helen and Lindsay have taught us.
Today we learned about how wine is made. The teachers explained how the grapes are picked, separated and then smashed to create grape juice which is then left to sit until it becomes wine. Then we found out that we would get to do it!
Thanks Anna for the Grapes!!!

We went out side and sat at the tables.

The teachers gave us the grapes that Anna brought. We had to pick the grapes off of the bunches.

There were a lot of grapes, luckily we have a lot of hands.

And the grapes were really good, as some of us sneaked a taste!

Then once all the grapes had been picked off we finally got to SMASH them!
This was the best part!

They felt so squishy between our fingers and sticky!
Now we just have to wait until tomorrow to taste our juice!
